GP's to commission services? |

As a womens network we are concerend about the impact of the coalition's proposed change , whereby GP's will be charged with commissioning services, rather than the PCT. We are aware that currently women can access sexual health services through a variety of ways, and have concerns that GP's as 'businesses' could take a narrower view, and restricct choice. Also, we feel their main concern should be the health of their patients, and question if their time should be taken away from direct delivery?

On Saturday November 20th, WAND will be joining forces with West Dorset Womens Refuge, and the Domestic Violence and Abuse Forum, to reclaim the night in Dorchester . We will be hosting an event at Dorchester Town Hall, just for women, which will include a comedienne, drumming, food and disco, so we can bop till we drop.....At 9.00pm we will be taking to the streets of Dorchester with our banners, and having a march to campaign and raise awareness of International End Violence Against Women Day.Ticket are on sale from September priced £5.00 , any profits will be donated to West Dorset Womens Refuge For more information, please comtact Sue on
